US HOUSE Ohio 2nd Dist
305 precincts of 753 reporting
PAUL HACKETT (D) 23,957 51%
JEAN SCHMIDT (R) 22,846 49%

Here's some background for those not in the know:
"OH-2 is the eastern suburbs stretching out along the river and encompassing
several quite rural counties. Since Reagan, this has been a core red zone." (from Redstate.org)

Last election it went 76% Republican, a 50 point lead. This election, we might win.

Why?

Well, Hackett is an impressive candidate who has run a good race well funded largely by the netroots (though the RCCC and republican organizations have thrown lots and lots of money at the race too, because the net-funded campaign got them scared), his opponent is corrupt (along with the rest of the Ohio republican party) and really crazy and stupid and Paul Hackett's last job before campaigning to be in congress was in the United States military in Iraq. He's against the war, or perhaps the way it's been run, and would be the only person on the hill to have actually taken part in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Oh, also: he's called Bush a "son-of-a-bitch".
